Understanding the Importance of an Enterprise Device for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
Updated: Nov 17, 2020
Several State Request for Proposals (RFPs) and procurements have proven that GPS-enabled smartphones are the preferred method of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) implementation. Smartphones are easy to use devices that capture the necessary GPS location information necessary to comply with the 21st Century Cures Act.
While there are countless smartphones on the market, traditional consumer phones are insufficient and in many instances cost-prohibitive for EVV implementations. Unlike a traditional consumer cell phone, an enterprise device enables the party deploying the devices to control them at the EVV account level.
Highlands Mobile built LINK as an enterprise device with Android Enterprise so that our partners have complete control over the device and its applications.
What does this mean for you as the device owner?
Ability to wipe a device in the event it is lost, stolen, or needs to be removed from the field
Silently install, update, and manage all public Google apps needed on the LINK devices
Disable any access to user’s personal accounts on the phone
Lock down Google Play so only the appropriate apps are visible
And so much more.
Deploying an enterprise device is the only way to ensure your EVV device deployment works.
